Constant Contact's Operations team is responsible for the overall health and efficiency of our SaaS environment. To support our continued growth, we are seeking an intelligent, motivated, and creative Operations Administrator that has experience in a web-based software company providing a managed service to small businesses and organizations. The successful candidate will be a technical hands-on person focused on a 99.9% uptime and the success of recurring production jobs. This newly created position will report to the Director of Application Operations.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide 24x7 response to system outages during "on-call" periods. Help resolve simple and/or complex SaaS issues.
- Ensures SaaS issues are tracked, controlled, communicated, and escalated (if needed) in a timely fashion.
- Contribute to the overall success of our growing customer base by using proactive SaaS monitoring tools and practices.
- Manage the success of backend tasks such as database backups, ETL, reporting, and other scheduled jobs.
- Interface daily with other SaaS technical staff and help coordinate cross functional dependencies for SaaS maintenance and change management.
- Demonstrate SaaS performance objectively using metrics.
- Ensures SaaS changes are tracked and controlled with compliant procedures.
- Provide technical analysis of production change requests to ensure dependencies are understood and coordinated.
- Strive for continuous improvement of NOC processes and SaaS up-time.
Skills and Experience
- Two plus years of professional experience administering Linux environments including shell scripting.
- Familiarity with administration and implementation of an application server (i.e. JBoss, WebSphere, WebLogic).
- Familiarity with open source monitoring solutions (i.e. Nagios, Cacti, Zenoss).
- Working knowledge of database support, specifically DB2 and Oracle.
- Experience and proficiency in networking standards, protocols, security, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- The ability to work on multiple concurrent projects is essential.
- Strong self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Available to work after hours and weekends, when required, and willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
